SPL Football Finances
The aim of this site is to try and explain the finances of SPL football teams to fans in an easy to understand, friendly  format.

There is a huge difference between the Old Firm finances and those of some of the other clubs. A number of graphs are shown below to try and highlight the differences.

It is fairly easy to group the clubs together into similar sizes. So Rangers and Celtic each have four or five times more in come than the next group of teams. The Edinburgh clubs, with Aberdeen and Killie can then be grouped together with annual income of between £7m and £10m. Finally Dundee United, Falkirk, Motherwell and St Mirren are all similarly sized with income of £3m to £4m.

This site at the moment does not have detailed figures for Inverness or a Hamilton as their accounts do not have the same level of detail as the other clubs.

It is interesting to note that Motherwell and Dundee United from the smallest group both achieved a top 6 finish last season. Whether this is from good team management, or just a lucky season for them is open to debate.
